Elijah Crawford, aged 78, died at 10:15 a. M. Thursday in the Jones Nursing home after an illness of three months. He was born in Marshall county, Indiana, Oct. 18, 1870, and came here 30 years ago. His wife died in 1943.
He formerly worked for the Malleable Steel Range company.
Surviving, are six children, James, Dale, Wayne and Harry, all of South Bend; Paul, of Berrien Springs. Etch., and Mrs. June Misenaer, of Mishawaka; two brothers, Warren. of South Bend, and Charles,' of Washington; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call in the Russell chapel after 7 p. m. today until funeral services there at 2 p. m. Saturday. Burial will be in Southlawn cemetery. Rev. Roscoe F. Wilson. D. D., will officiate. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
