Age: 60. From Roxbury.Cornelius Briggs was born abt 1787 in or around Weymouth, Massachusetts to Cornelius Briggs 1757- ?? and Mary Lovell 1760-1837. He apprenticed as a cabinetmaker with Abiel White in Weymouth and became a journeyman in 1806. Sometime between 1806 and 1813 he moved his workshop from Weymouth to Boston — 576 Washington Street and then 2 Temple Street. {Boston Directory 1801-1825}

He and Mary Homer Howe (abt 1794-1875) married in Boston 8 May 1814 by Edward Everett at The Manifesto Church in Brattle Square in Boston.
