Michael Allocca, of Hanover, formerly of Dorchester and Bonito, Italy, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 26, 2022.

Beloved husband of 58 years to Franca (D'Orazio) Allocca. He is survived by their children, Brenda Allocca of Hanover, Michael Allocca and his wife Christen of Marshfield, Joseph Allocca of Hanover, and Anthony Allocca and his wife Natalie of Manhattan Beach, CA. Grandfather to Michael, Sara, Isabela, Eloise, Ava, and Aidan.

Michael grew up in Bonito, Italy and was the youngest of five children. He is predeceased by his siblings Guiseppe, Velia, Antonio and Maria. He left school at an early age to help his mother who was widowed at 27. Michael worked as an apprentice to a shoemaker and learned the shoe manufacturing trade. He eventually left Italy at the age of 19 and moved to Venezuela to pursue a better opportunity. After 10 years in Venezuela, he came to the United States to join his mother and siblings. He worked as a foreman for a leather manufacturing business but he eventually went on to open his own factory manufacturing leather goods.

He traveled often to California and Italy. When he finally retired his greatest pleasure was being able to spend time with his grandchildren. Michael enjoyed sitting in his backyard watching his chickens and admiring his garden. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 30th from 3:00PM-6:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Rockland- 45 E. Water Street. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 31st at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Church in Hanover - 392 Hanover St. Burial will be held immediately following at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association and the Alzheimer's Association.
