A. Calvert dies at 68; service set
Aldro Calvert, 68, former Mason City resident, died Sunday at Casa Grande, Ariz. He was a retired foreman for the Milwaukee Road. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Major Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Calvert was born Sept. 17, 1902, near Rock Falls, the son of Osmer and Ella (Caygill) Calvert.
He serviced with the U.S. Army in World War II. He farmed near Rock Falls and was a carpenter before the war. From 1944 to 1968 he worked for the Milwaukee Road.
He is survived by two brothers, Marvin and Fay, Cedar Falls, and one sister, Miss Ruby Calvert, Lansing. Mich.
He was preceded in death by wife wife, one sister and two brothers.
The Rev. Harold Dellit, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Manly, will officiate.
Burial will be in Rock Falls Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl, Paul and Chester Calvert, Orville Nettifee, Marvin Peterson and Clemence Gorkowski.
The family requested that any memorials be given to the Rock Falls United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Major Memorial Chapel from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the time of services.
