CEDAR FALLS–Ruby G. Calvert, 88, of the Western Home, died Saturday, May 24, at the home of natural causes.
She was born March 5, 1909, near Rock Falls, daughter of Osmer and Ella Caygill Calvert.
She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and the University of Michigan, taught English and speech in Iowa, then taught in Michigan, including 20 years in Holland and 20 years in Lansing.
Survived by: a brother, Marvin Calvert of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by: a sister, Hazel Christensen; and four brothers, Glen, Ray, Aldro, and Fay.
Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Western Home Chapel, with inurnment in Rock Falls Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials: may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, or Rock Falls Methodist Church.
