Robert was raised in Endicott, NY. He completed his education at Broome Community College and was a veteran of the US Army and National Guard. Robert worked at IBM as an Advisory Engineer receiving many awards and holding several patents by the time of his retirement. Robert and Joyce raised their four children in Vestal and created many happy memories along the way. Hunting, fishing, boating and spending time on the water brought great joy to Robert. He had a brilliant mind and was a gifted inventor. He was a true "jack of all trades" who could do anything he set his mind to and fix anything that was broken. He had an inspired vision to invent a better way to do everything. Everyone has a memory of his antics as he never missed the opportunity to make us laugh.
