Ethel Jean Clark, affectionately known as "Jean" passed peacefully at home on October 18, 2022. Jean was born to the late Charles Hayes, Sr. and Ruthie Mae (Streeter) Marble on July 27, 1954 in Minter City, Mississippi. She held a special love for her step-father, Willie Lee Marble, Sr.
Jean relocated from Mississippi to Muskegon, MI and then to Chicago, IL where she graduated from John Marshall High School in 1973. Shortly after graduation, Jean relocated to Joliet, IL where she was called home.
Jean graduated Joliet Junior College with a certificate in Licensed Practical Nursing. Jean held various roles as a LPN and last worked at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. Her family would call her to remedy any ailment. She had many hobbies including reading her word, writing in her journals and bringing her plants back to life.
While in Joliet, she met the love of her life Curtis Clark. In 1980, they married and from this union three wonderful children were born. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. Her family meant the world to her.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Clark; father, Charles Hayes Sr. and step-father, Willie Lee Marble Sr.; brothers, Charles Hayes Jr., Andrew Lee Marble Sr., Bernard Horace Marble Sr.; sister, Tanita Marble.
