On June 18, 1961, Jerry was united in marriage to Jan Wray at the United Church of Christ in Trenton. To this union two sons were born, Brad and Brian. The family continued to farm the homeplace near Trenton. Jerry was inspired by his father's love of flying and Jerry soloed on his 16th birthday and received his private pilot's license. Jerry continued flying, using his plane for personal and for work checking his farm and cattle.
Jerry was involved with the community, serving on the Cemetery Board, School Board and Rural Fire Department Board, Masonic Lodge, Tehama Shrine Club of McCook, NE, and the American Legion Post 337. He was also a member of the United Church of Christ which he was active in for many years. Jerry and Jan did take several trips as farming would allow. They traveled to Alaska, Arizona, and several southern states, as well as the east coast. In early years, the family spent many Sunday afternoons at the lake fishing and waterskiing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, "Skinny" and Lucy Williams; in-laws, Jim and Vera Wray; sister-in-law, Jean (Wayne) Matson; brother-in-law, Max Wood.
The family honored Jerry's wishes to be cremated. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside.
