Elvina was the daughter of Lewis Fowler and Lucinda Perkins and was born December 1855, according to the 1900 census record. On the 1860 census she is living with her parents and siblings in Jackson Parish, Louisiana.

Elvina married George A. Chandler on March 27, 1884, in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. On the marriage record it shows her name to be Elvina Clark. She must have been married to a Clark before her marriage to George Chandler. George was married to a women named Amanda before he married Elvina. George and Amanada had two daughters together. So, Elvina had two stepdaughters.

On the 1900 census Elvina and George are living in Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory with their two children Alice and George Jr. She reported that they had been married for about 15 years and that she had given birth to 4 children and only 3 were living. I only know the names of two of her children as mentioned above. Her third child that was living at that time and also reported living on the 1910 census as Elvina reported the same number of children born and children living in 1910 as well. (Any help with the names of her other two children please send me an email) I'm assuming one died young and the other lived to adult hood? Also believe the one that was reported living was from her 1st husband Mr. Clark.

On the 1910 census she is living with her daughter Alice and husband, her husband George, and grandchildren. They are living in La Salle Parish, Louisiana. She reported that George and she had been married for 26 years.

After 1910 her records go cold. On George's obituary in 1922, it lists he is survived by his wife but no name. I'm pretty sure it was Elvina but not 100 % sure. So, I do believe she passed away sometime after 1922. He was buried in Sugden Cemetery in Sugden, Oklahoma, so there is a chance that is where she is at? I do believe she is either buried with her husband or maybe someone in Louisiana. Any help to her final resting place please send me an email.

May Elvina Fowler Chandler memory live forever.
