Laura Fowler Austin Hudson was the daughter of Lewis Fowler and Lucinda Perkins. On the 1860 census she is living with her parents and siblings in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. On the 1870 census she is living with her brother Jesse Young Fowler and his wife Nancy in Winn Parish, Louisiana.

Laura married Buck Austin sometime in the late 1870's and on the 1880 census she is living with her husband and son C. D. Austin in Winn Parish, Louisiana. On February 20, 1889, Laura married James Hudson in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. I'm not sure if Buck and Laura divorced or Buck passed away as I can't find any record at this time showing what happened to Buck Austin.

On the 1900 census she is living with her husband James Hudson in Jackson Parish, Louisiana. On the 1910 census she in living with her son C. D. and his wife Annie and children in Polk County, Texas. She was widowed so James Hudson passed away sometime between 1900 and 1910 as his records are also hard to find. After the 1910 census, her records go cold. I'm assuming she passed away sometime between 1910-1920 as she is not listed with her son on the 1920 census. C. D. was her only child. C. D. is living back in Louisiana in 1920 so I'm thinking Laura is either buried somewhere in Texas or Louisiana. Any more help to her story please send me an email.
