Director, Producer, Composer, Lyricist, and Author. He may be best remembered for his contributions to the following productions; "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"(co-producer) (1964), "The Little Drummer Boy" (1968), "Frosty the Snowman" (producer) (1969), "The Year Without A Santa Claus" (producer and director) (1974), "The Hobbit" (TV movie) (director and producer) (1977), "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" (TV movie) (1985), and "ThunderCats Roar" (TV series) (consulting producer) (2020). Up until 1960 he worked at an advertising agency in New York. He also founded the film production company" Videocraft International" in the 1960s. He wrote some under the name of "Julian P. Gardner" like "The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus" and the Emmy Award nominated "The Little Drummer Boy, Book II." He stopped directing and producing films in 1987 and spent most of his time in later life writing a series of children's books about Herb, the Vegetarian Dragon.
