Ouyda May Jeffries "Rita", 84, of Everett, died February 2, 2008, of complications from surgery in January to fix a broken hip. Ouyda was born on November 10, 1923, in McKinney, Texas to Dennis L. and Grace M. Maddox.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Kenneth; brother, Joe L. Maddox; and oldest daughter, Carol Ann Hill.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Chum) Shoemaker, of Lake Stevens, WA; two step-sons, Mike Jeffries, of Everett, and Pat (Rhonda), of Puyallup, WA. Grandma Weed had 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ouyda was a homemaker and she enjoyed fishing, camping, and many activities with friends at the 170 Club in Everett. Mike moved home 12 years ago so that she could remain independent in her own home.
At her request, no funeral services were held. She was cremated and laid to rest with her husband at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Cemetery.
