Kenneth M. Ebert, age 83 of New Martinsville, WV, passed away Thursday, October 20, surrounded by family. He was a lifelong Wetzel County resident.

He was born April 22, 1939, near Hollman Ridge, West Virginia. He grew up the youngest of seven children of the late Elmer Francis and Janye Margaret (nee Postlethwait). Kenny graduated in 1957 from Magnolia High School, he played football for the Blue Eagles. Following graduation, he enlisted with the U.S. Army and was recalled to active duty during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. In 1962 he began a 37-year career with Olin Matheson, which became part of Ormet, where he was Quality Control Supervisor. He pursued a degree in Business Administration from West Liberty State College and was also a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Scott Ebert; brothers Dean and Lane Ebert; sisters Lucille Stoneking and Dorothy Goddard.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Linda; two sons, Douglas (Connie) Ebert of Oxford, MS, and Craig Ebert of Fredericksburg, VA; daughters, Rebecca (Brian) Baker of New Martinsville and Melissa Richmond of Moundsville; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Alice Marie Hammel of New Martinsville and Nelda Walton of Paden City.

At Kenneth's request, there will be no visitation. The family will hold a remembrance of his life at a later date.
