BARBARA ANN ALTHAUS

Barbara Ann Althaus, age 90, of Mahomet, IL, passed away at 6:06 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Bridle Brook Assisted Living in Mahomet.
Graveside services honoring her life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Dodge Grove Cemetery with Pastor Rickey Ferguson officiating. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Barbara was born on November 19, 1931 in Paris, IL, the daughter of Russell Farr and Elizabeth (Walls) Farr. She first married Russell Gene Stewart. Barbara then later married her secret childhood crush and love of her life at the age of 74, Jim Althaus, in 2005. They spent five wonderful years traveling the world and enjoying their lives together. He preceded her in death in 2010.

Survivors include her children, Vickie Fletcher of Mahomet, IL, Russell Duane (Tina) Stewart of Mattoon, IL, and John (Tina) Stewart of Champaign, IL; son-in-law, Patrick Hollingsworth of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, David Richardson, Keith Stewart, Haley (Joe) Wright, Ian (Bridget) Stewart, Hunter Hollingsworth, and Nicholas Hollingsworth; and great-grandson, Beckham Stewart.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Jeanie Hollingworth; siblings, Donald, Paul, and Frankie Farr; and son-in-law, Steve Fletcher.

Barbara worked at the Mattoon Garment Factory, she sold guns for 19 years at Wal-Mart, and she devoted time to reproduction uniforms for movies, as well as pageant dresses. Barbara loved her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and she felt blessed to live long enough to love and enjoy her great-grandchild. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
