Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Ann Purdy, 82, who died Tuesday morning at Osawatomie Kansas were conducted at 10 o'clock Friday morning in the Chapel of the Jess Rindt Mortuary
The Rev. Herbert T. Beatty officiated and Mrs. Herbert T. Beatty was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Jess Rindt. Pallbearers were Charles DeMott, James Hughes, Harry Burnett, Jess Rindt, Edwin Witte and Elmer Fouts. Burial was in Parker Cemetery.
Mrs. Purdy was a pioneer resident of Arkansas City and Widow of John R. Purdy, prominent church worker in the Parker District. He died April 22,1902. Mrs. Purdy was born May 11,1862, in Illinios and was married to John R. Purdy on May 02,1883.
Surviving relatives are five daughters, Mrs Grace Edmondson of Great Bend Ks, Miss Nellie Jay Purdy of Denver, Mrs Mary Lock of Indianpolis Ks, Mrs. Emma Waetzig of Carbondale Ks. and Iona May Gumaer of Fairbury Neb. two sons Aaron Purdy of Albion Mich. and Dr. D.M. Purdy of Austin Minn.
