Professional Baseball Player. As an undrafted free agent he signed a contract with the Cincinnati Redlegs as a left-handed pitcher. He made his MLB debut with them on April 23, 1954 in a 10–3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. In the short time that he was with the Redlegs he appeared in 16 games for the Redlegs during the 1954 season, playing in 24 innings, gave up 23 hits and 13 runs, with eight bases on balls and seven strikeouts. He made his last appearance in Major League Baseball on September 5, 1954. He started his career in baseball in high school at Cleveland Heights High School as a pitcher and continued it while in college at Ohio State University where he played in the 1951 College World Series. He played in the minors from 1948 up until 1955 at various stops, missing the 1952 and 1953 seasons for military service. After retiring from baseball in 1954 he went into the oil business, and later was a steel company sales representative in Chicago, and a waste management company independent contractor in Los Angeles. For several years he was the batting practice pitcher for the Cleveland Indians when they were at home games.
