Funeral services for Robert Charles Barr, 70, will be held Thursday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Last Chance Baptist Church with Rev. Don Baker and assisting Pastor, Dale Friend, officiating. He died Monday, Feb. 4 in Tulsa.
Born Feb 2, 1938 in Dallas, Tex. to George and Jewel (Sisk) Barr. He had been a resident of Okfuskee county for the past 35 years. He and Patricia Ann Bradley were married May 28, 1960 in Odessa, Tex. He worked for 20 years with General Electric as an appliance technician. He also served his country with the United States Navy. Barr was a deacon at the Last Chance Baptist Church and also enjoyed cooking and singing.
Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Jewel Barr; two brothers, Merle and Jerry Barr; two half brothers, Danny and Tommy Whiteley and one grandson, Matthew Barr.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Barr of Okemah; two sons, Tommy Taylor and wife Cecilia of Okemah and Brad Barr and wife Kari of Sapulpa; two daughters, Darla Adams and husband, Ricky of Okarche and Kristi Kerley and husband, Mark of Welty; one brother, Don Barr and wife JoAnn of Van, Tex; one half sister, Linda Lewis of Dallas; nine grandchildren, Shelly, Scott, Amy, Ashley, Lauren, Lindsey, Korby, Sara and Matt and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Brianna and Kaden.
Pallbearers are Steven Curry, Lloyd Gaskill, Dwayne Tillman, Denny Fox, Gary Gaskill and Max Taylor. Honorary pallbearers include James Bennett, Max Henry, Greg Scott, Mike Yocham and C. J. Garrett.
Interment followed at the Morse Cemetery under the direction of Parks Funeral Home.
