Henry B. Wolter, 91, R.R.10, Greensburg, died 1:45 a.m. today, June 24, 1986, in the Heritage House Nursing Home.

Wolter was born Nov. 9, 1894, in St. Maurice, the son of John B. and Anna Kuntz Wolter. He was a retired farmer, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Senior Citizens, and the Farm Bureau. He was a former president of the Washington Township Farm Bureau, and the former president of the Soil and Water Conservation Service. In 1970 he was awarded the Certificate of Distinction by the Decatur County Extension Service.

He was married to Elizabeth "Lillie" Messerschmidt, and she preceded him in death Feb. 20, 1976. He is survived by four sons, Charles, Leo and Robert Wolter, all of R.R.10, Greensburg, and Justin Paul Wolter, R.R.9, Greensburg; one daughter, Isabella Schoettmer, R.R.10, Greensburg; one brother, Edward Wolter, Cincinnati; two sisters, Rose and Mary Wolter, Both of R.R.6, Greensburg; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Lawrence, who was killed in World War II, and Leander Wolter, who died in infancy; four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Anthony, and Edwin Wolter, and one sister, Minnie Ploeger.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Geis officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

A rosary will be prayed 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
