William H. Carpenter, 25 year resident of Ellis, passed away at his home Wednesday (30 Jul)after a 3 week illness.
Survived by the following children: Robert and M. A. Carpenter of this city; Charles Carpenter of Ellis, M. M. Carpenter of Longford, KS; Mrs. Maude Grabher of Hemingford, NE. He also leaves a wife by a second marriage.
Mr. Carpenter was well and favorably known in the Ellis neighborhood and had a large circle of friends who will learn of his death with profound sorrow.
Mrs. Carpenter has been assistant postmaster at Ellis for some time.
