Peter A. Gates, one of the best known and highly respected residents of Calf Creek, died at his home near Snowball, on Thursday, April 27, of paralysis. The funeral services were held Friday, April 28, and the remains were interred in the Snowball Cemetery under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, of which he was a member. Deceased leaves a wife and one daughter, two brothers, H T. Gates of Tahlequah, I. T. (Indian Territory), and W. J. Gates, of Mountain Star, this county, and many other relatives and friends to mourn his demise. He was 64 years of age and had lived on Calf Creek many years where he was greatly esteemed for his many good traits of character and noble citizenship.
