OLD DOCK -- Alpha Formyduval, 89, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008. She was born in Columbus County on Jan. 28, 1918 the daughter of the late Joshua and Mortie Long, and the widow of the late Elbert C. Formyduval.

Formyduval was a member of Palmyra Baptist Church.

Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Peacock's Chapel In The Pines with Rev. Roy Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park. Peacock's Chapel In The Pines is handling the arrangements.

She is survived by a daughter, Beatrice F. "Bea" Sellers and husband, Wayne of Whiteville; a granddaughter, Angie Sellers of Raleigh; three sisters, Alma Tison and Martha Edge, both of Whiteville, Mary Ann Tison of Roanoke, Va.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Long, Eugene Long, and Samuel Long.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 prior to the service at the funeral home.
