William J. Schramm, 85, formerly of Kenosha, Wis., died at his residence in Freemont, Calif., Sunday following a short illness. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William D. (Louisa Schmidt) Schramm.

At an early age, he moved to Kenosha with the family and he was educated in Kenosha Schools.

Mr. Schramm married, Ida Cable on June 2, 1916 and she died May 1, 1974.

Mr. Schramm was employed by the Koos Co. and after his retirement worked at the Kenosha Country Club.

In 1974, he moved to Freemont to live with his son. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, and a 50-year member of the Kenosha Lodge 47 of F. & A.M. Survivors include a son, William R. of Freemont; a daughter, Mrs. Jerome (Dorothy) Schraa of Melo Park, Calif. and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. (Carl, Walter, Herbert and Mary).
