On April 1, 1956, in Houston County, Texas, Norman and Hattie Bell Larue Satterwhite, became the proud parents of a sweet baby girl whom they named "Charlotte Laverne." Mrs. Tanner was their third child of four children.
Mrs. Tanner attended and received her education at Crockett High School and Bunch High School. Mrs. Tanner accepted Christ at an early age and united with St. Luke Baptist Church, later New Pleasant Grove Baptist, and Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tanner married in Holy Matrimony to Maderia Tanner, Jr. the union was blessed with one child. Mrs. Tanner worked as a seamstress.
Survivors include her husband Maderia Tanner, Jr., of Crockett; son Lauardrick (Christal) Tanner, of Crockett; daughter Katina (Greg) Hubbard; special nephew Dawson Ware; three brothers Asa James Satterwhite, Edward Satterwhite and Norman Satterwhite; two sisters Norman Jean (Jay Lee) Hunt, Patricia (Leon) Gibson; three grandchildren Sykera, Greg II and Kylie; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Norman and Hattie Larue Satterwhite; sister Brenda Jordan.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Charlotte Laverne Tanner were held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethel Baptist Church in Crockett with Rev. Earl Harris pastor and officiating. Interment followed in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers were Brandon Johnson, Charles Baker, Patrick Tanner, Jamie Williams, Marcus Davis and Thomas White.
Honorary Pallbearers were Cliff Irving, office and Members of New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Emanuel Funeral Home
