Maxwell Quinn, 89, of McAlester, died on Thursday, November 15, 2018, in Tulsa.

The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by the Rev. Jessie Hernandez. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honors Team. Pallbearers will be Dr. Chad Crawley, T. Shawn Howard, Gabriel Bourlier, Gerald Branam, Rick Curtis and Bill Southard. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Curtis, Rudy Hernandez, Jimmy Krisinger and Mike Thomas.

Max was born on April 6, 1929, to Wesley and Jimmie (Cameron) Quinn, in Foss. He graduated from McAlester High School and Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Max served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. He served in the National Guard after his foreign service.

Max married Neatha (Hickman) Smith in 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada
He worked as a milkman for Meadow Gold for seven years and then went to work for the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. He retired as the supervisor of the electric shop.
Max loved to fish and hunt. He traveled with his wife, Neatha, going to horse races and casinos. He also enjoyed gardening.

Maxwell was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Antonia Quinn and Sonja Quinn, and great-grandson, Zachary McMullen.

Survivors include his wife, Neatha Smith Quinn, of the home; daughter, Diana Branam and husband, Gerald, of McAlester; stepdaughter, Dr. Tawana Hickman-Smith, of McAlester; grandchildren, Antonia "Toni" Utley and husband, Mickey, of Brownsville, Tennessee, Shonda Crumbley, of Tulsa, Christie Crawley and husband, Dr. Chad Crawley, of Tulsa, and Dr. Misty Branam and husband, T. Shawn Howard, of McAlester; stepgrandchildren, Gabriel Bourlier and wife, Kyonna, and Tawatha Linhardt; great-grandchildren, Cameran, Norah, Hayden, Ethan, Mila, Memory, Bailey and Jessica; stepgreat-grandchildren, Ivy, Niavah and Neatha; five great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.
