Born Aug. 1, 1943, in Logan County to Gail J.H. and Maude Iola Squire Thies, she married Ron Behrends on April 8, 1962, in Mason City. He survives.
Also surviving are her father and stepmother, Gail and Gen Thies of Mason City; two sons, Brent of San Jose and Mike of Mason City; three sisters, Jeanie Taylor of Bonita Springs, Fla., Janet Werner of New Holland and Beth Krause of Manito; one stepsister, Rhonda Knoles of Mason City; one stepbrother, Jim Hoffert of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
Her mother preceded her in death.
She and her husband farmed in Mason County.
Burial will be in Allens Grove Cemetery in San Jose.
