Jackson Eddy: date of birth 9/14/1845, died 10/15/1920 in Norfolk, New York. Full name is John Jackson Eddy---always called "Jackson" to differentiate him from his father John Eddy.
John Jackson Eddy Co. K 11 th Vermont Infantry. Captured 6/23/1864 at the Weldon Railroad. Sent to Belle Isle for one week and Salisbury, North Carolina, for one week before transfer to Andersonville where he was stripped of our hats, shoes and frocks, with no shelter by day or night. Sent to Millen, Georgia, 11/11/64. Escaped 2/22/65 while being transferred by train to Willimgton, South Carolina. Mustered out 5/24/65. Carried a piece of the Andersonville stockade with him for the remainder of his life. Residing in Alburgh, Vermont, on the SFVHA 1890 Roster. Living in Norfolk, New York, when he died 10/15/1920. Buried in the Methodist Cemetery at Alburgh Center, Vermont. Granted an invalid pension in 1875 as Jackson Eddy. Also listed as Eddy Jackson at Andersonville.
