Jerry Bruce Forrest, 69, of Asheville, died Monday, February 7, 2005, at his home.

Mr. Forrest was born in Travelers Rest, SC and was a son of the late John Forrest and Edna McCall Forrest Scoggins. He was also preceded in death by his step-father Paul Scoggins and his sister Joyce Forrest McCall.
He was a graduate of Sand Hill High School and attended Biltmore College. He served in the US Air Force for 22 years before retiring in 1977 as a Master Sergeant.

He then worked with Lockheed and Beechcraft Aerospace for several years before joining the Special Avionics Department of the FAA in Memphis, TN, where he worked as a crash site investigator.

He is survived by his son and caregiver, Michael Forrest of Asheville, with whom Mr. Forrest made his home; one daughter Kimberly Stecker of Hot Springs, Ark.; his former wife and mother of his children, Louise Forrest; one niece, Lissa McGlamery and her husband Jim; one great-niece Christy and several cousins.

Military honors will be provided by the Asheville High School Marine Corps JROTC at Pisgah View Memorial Park
