L. W. Ackerman Passes; Owner Of Restaurant

Louis W. Ackerman, Sr., 63, owner of the Flyer's Club, 1280 Scottsvile Rd., died yesterday (April 26, 1958) in St. Mary's Hospital. He was being treated for a heart ailment.

A native of Rochester, Mr. Ackerman lived at 29 Browns Ave., Scottsville. He maintained a summer home at 60 Tone Ter., Irondequoft.

Mr. Ackerman also operated an amusement center at 1268 Scottsville Rd. and was part owner of Ackerman's Restaurant at 2389 Lyell Ave.

Mr. Ackerman worked at the Eastman Kodak Co. and the former Northeast Electric Corp. before opening the Flyer's Club 29 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bardo Ackerman; a son, Louis Jr.; a daughter, Pauline Coles; three grandchildren; two sisters, Marvel Brennan and Marie Snyder; two brothers, Theodore and Wilfred Ackerman, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Corbett Funeral Homes, Inc., 109 West Ave., from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Gladstone Stevens, Jr. of Scottsville will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
