Barbara Worrell Roberts, 79 of Haskell, entered the pearl gates of Heaven and was reunited with her late husband, Bobby, on Monday, September 26, 2022, in Abilene.

Barbara Nell Worrell was born September 17, 1943, to Joseph and Johnnie Castleberry Worrell in Seymour, Texas. She was raised in Haskell and was the youngest of 4 children behind Jeri, Coleta and Joseph Jr. Barbara met Bobby Ray while attending school, and they wed June 11, 1959. Bobby and Barbara were just shy of their 47th wedding anniversary when he passed in April 2006.

Barbara became a mother in 1960 with the birth of their daughter, Tammy Jean, and again in 1962 with their son, Jimmy Ray. They actively attended the Eastside Baptist Church where they raised their family and served the Lord. Barbara loved to travel, host family meals and game nights, or could be found at their cabin at Lake Stamford when she wasn't at any of her kids' events or ginning cotton.

Barbara was a full-time broker and bookkeeper for the Haskell Co-Op Gin, for 52 years, and only retired because she felt like, at 70, she was just too old to be working. Working at the gin gave Barbara the opportunity to work with several generations of farming families, watch their kids grow, and help them succeed, which she took great pride in doing.

On Bobby and Barbara's 30th wedding anniversary Jimmy Ray welcomed the birth of his daughter, Alexa Ray, and Barbara was honored to become Granny.

Proceeding her in death was her husband, parents, sister Jeri Burke, brother-in-law's Jimmy Burke and Don Whitfield, in-laws GW and Doris Roberts, and brother-in-law, Albert Lee Roberts.

Survivors include Tammy Jean McMillan of Haskell, Jimmy Ray and wife JoNell Roberts of Haskell, granddaughter Alexa Ray and husband Brent Reed of Stratford, grandsons Will Trammell and wife Jordan of North Richland Hills, and Jason Trammell and wife Jodi of Fort Worth.
She leaves behind 8 grandchildren Aubrey, Raegan, Kollin and Quayde Reed, and Jaxon, Evynn, Jenna, and Greer Trammell. Other surviving family includes sister Coleta Whitfield, brother Joe Worrell and wife Michelle, sister-in-law Doris Jean and husband Max McMeans along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a monetary donation may do so to the fantastic hospice care center that cared for Mom/Granny until her last breath.
