Melvin Ray Dickerson, Sr., age 64, of Mount Holly, NC passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at his residence.

Born on October 12, 1952, in Gaston County, NC to the late James Ray Dickerson (1924–2000) and Mildred Lee Pressley Dickerson (1929–2001); husband of Patsy Mathis Dickerson for 43 years.

Also survived by his sons, Michael Bingham, Melvin Ray Dickerson (1971–2019) and his wife Ruby, William Dickerson; daughters, Ella Clark, Crystal Griffith (Christian), and Melony Mitchell (Steven); sister, Brenda Barrett; brother, David Dickerson; twenty-four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Also predeceased by his sisters, Janice Dickerson Bayless (1949–2013) and Shirley Dickerson Hughes (1954–2013).

He was a loving husband and father and was loved by many people. He loved to carp fish more than anything in the world at Midway Lakes among others.
