Delila Gertrude Scheid was born on February 17, 1927, and died September 18, 2022, at the Prairie County Nursing Home in Terry, Montana.

Delila was born at Crow Rock, Montana to Christina and Ludwig Naasz. She lived there until 1947 when they sold the farm and moved to Terry. She went to work at Youngs Bar and Café and said if it had not been for Shirley Lampe, she never would have learned how to be a waitress.

Over the years she worked for all the people who owned Youngs.

On June 27, 1947, she married Harold Scheid at Trinity Lutheran Church in Terry, a union that lasted for 64 years when Harold passed in 2012.

They had four children: Linda, Rita, Lynn and Ryan. Delila waited tables, worked at the post office and for 24 years at the laundry at the Prairie County Nursing Home in Terry.

Delila was a 66-year member to the Terry American Legion Auxiliary and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Delila is survived by her children: Linda Converse of Augusta, MT, Rita Scheid of Terry, MT, Lynn (Cheryl) Scheid of Miles City, MT, and Ryan (Suzann) Scheid of Mandan, ND; six grandchildren: Larry (Wendy) Scheid of Miles City, Lance and Morgan Scheid of Mandan, ND, Sarah Converse of Great Falls, MT, Pam Converse of Conrad, MT, Teresa Lane of Augusta, and Kelly Draper, Kory (Meccala) Draper; great grandchildren: Kelsey Draper of Miles City; Taylar Fleer, Loren and Bethany Delila Lane of Augusta, Ayden, Kye and Teagan Draper of Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her siblings Martha, Edwin, Edgar, Erna, Eugene, six nieces and a nephew.

Visitation will begin on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Terry.

Interment will follow in the Prairie County Cemetery, Terry, MT.
