Memorial services for Myrtle Irene (Davie) Chitty, 82, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, will officiate. Wallace Funeral Home is to direct burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Chitty, who retired as a clerk at City Drug after 34 years, moved to Tulia in 1945 from Briscoe County.
She died at 6:22 p.m. Monday, April 6, 1992, in Amarillo's St. Anthony's Hospital following a prolonged illness.
The former Myrtle Irene Davis was born Aug. 4, 1909, in Blue Ridge, Tex. She was married to Audie D. Chitty in 1927.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Winona Kirkland of Tulia and Glenda Kay Tillman of Vernon; three sons, A. D. Chitty Jr. of Shreveport, La., Don Chitty of Amarillo and Billy Wayne Chitty of Lawton, Okla.; one sister, Mattie Davis Green of Anna; one brother, Melvin Davis of Melissa; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Chitty died in 1979. His wife was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert A. Chitty, in 1978.
The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association or the Tulia Cemetery Association.
