Dick was released from his Alzheimer's nightmare on January 25, 2008. He was a resident of Dayton until he enlisted in the Army in 1948. Dick was combat wounded in Korea and he also completed a tour of duty in Viet Nam. At reenlistment date Dick joined the Air Force and he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1974. He was Mormon by faith. He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Laura Drake Ries, his sister, Margaret Louise, and his toddler nephew, Larry Joe Perdue.Dick is survived by his nephew Nick Perdue of Texas and niece, Carol, of Ohio. Dick leaves behind countless cousins who will think of Dick with great affection and many smiles just remembering what a good and funny guy he was. We loved him as if he were another brother; we dearly miss ole Richard.

Dick is buried next to his Mother, Laura Drake Ries who died in 1949. Lot 235A, Section 122. Larry Joe Perdue is buried across the road from his Grandmother Laura Drake Ries and his Uncle Dick.

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields. And, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Thank you so much to Richard Holt for getting picture of Richard's headstone. (((Richard))) We appreciate the effort you made to do this for our family.
