Frank Conaway, Jr. was born on June 24, 1920 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas to Wiley Franklin "Frank" Conaway (1891-1984) and Johanna Laura Faber (1892-1980). Frank was a veteran of World War II during which conflict he served as a Technical Sargent for the U.S. Army. On April 11, 1947, following the war, Frank married Alice June Luethy (1927-1976) in Ward County, Texas. Alice was the daughter of Gus Preston Luethy (1887-1960) and Gertrude Edna James (1895=1970). Frank was the second generation owner and operator of the "Conaway Machine Shop, General Machine Work, Acetylene and Electric Welding" of 1115 South Cherry Street in San Antonio, Texas. Frank passed away on September 13, 2004 in Pleasanton, Atascosa County, Texas. He was cremated and his ashes were laid to rest beside Alice at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. Frank and Alice are known to have had three children including: Frank Preston Conaway (1948-2020), Gary Ross Conaway (born 1951) and Alice Louise (Conaway) Denson (born 1956).
