Melva G. Hansen passed away peacefully at her home December 5, 1995.

She was born January 13, 1909 in Provo, Utah to Earl J. and Sarah Elizabeth Rasband Glade. She has been preceded in death by her husband, Basil C. Hansen. Throughout her life she has been an example of the virtues of hard work. Having obtained a Master's in Special Education and Reading, she taught in the Granite, Salt Lake and Logan School Districts. She had a lifelong love of learning. She has fulfilled many teaching assignments in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert G. Hansen and his wife, Kaye T. Hansen; grandchildren, Kara Lynne Hansen Smith, Emily Kaye Hansen Marriot, Kathryn Ruth Hansen, Robert Scott Hansen and Richard Glade Hansen; sisters, Melba Glade and Mrs. Patricia (LeGrand R.) Curtis; brothers, Earl J. Glade, Jr., J. Richard Glade, and Keith Glade.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 1995 at 11 a.m., in the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary Chapel, 4760 South State Street, where friends may call Saturday, 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
