Obituary: Charles W. Burns.
Charles Wesley Burns, 82, of Rowlesburg, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 5 in Preston Memorial hospital. A son of the late John and Sarah Davis Burns, Mr. Burns was born May 9, 1874, in Tucker County. He was a member of the German Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Maggie Burns; one son, Arthur of Baltimore; step-mother, Mrs. Ellen Burns of Covington, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Doody of Germantown, Md.; tow half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Deahl of Middleburg, Md., and Mrs. Edith Bowman of Piqua, Ohio; one brother, Thomas Burns of Keyser; four half brothers, Herbert of Pennsylvania, Robert of Covington, Joe of Try, O., and Allen of Homestead, Fla.; and tow grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Watkins School by Ervin P. Benedict of Waynesboro, Pa. Interment was in the family cemetery with the Kiger-Williams Funeral Home of Kingwood in charge of arrangements.
