She was raised in Smiths Station and later moved to LaGrange, Georgia where she raised her children. Throughout her life, Laura was loved by many. She had an infectious laugh, played a mean hand of Rummy, and enjoyed singing badly to classic rock. She collected salt & pepper shakers and drank Mountain Dew like it was going out of style. Laura was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved and would always take care of others before herself. This served her well in her profession as an LPN, where she was a favored caretaker by her many patients over the years. In her retirement, Laura could often be found spending time with her kids, grandkids, and other family. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Laura is preceded in death by her father, Charles Lloyd Wise, and beloved stepfather, Howard Don Murphy.
