Sarah Elizabeth Swan was born February 17, 1857 to John Ward Swan and Caroline Seville Bonar Swan. She was the second child. She died at age of 3 years on October 17, 1860. Her gravestone is at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, New London, Iowa near that of a little sister Minnie who, born later, died at the age of 2 yrs. Much of the rest of her family is buried at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa. Gravesite Details
The stone darkened. Stone was reset in October 2023 by generous volunteers Paul French and Wendell Biggs next to her sister Minnie and near the obelisk of her grandparents Henry V. and Esther R. Swan at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Henry County, Iowa.
