Born Elsie Diser on January 14, 1931, in Booneville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lafayette and Ethel (Alexander) Diser. She received her education in Madison County, Marshall County, and graduated from Clemons High School in 1948.

On August 5, 1952, she married Allen Davis at the Little Brown Church. They lived in State Center with their three children. She was employed at the State Center Manor for 10 years. Mr. Davis passed away in September of 1990, and Elsie moved to Marshalltown. She lived at the Grant Street Apartments until moving to Southridge Specialty Care in November of 2021.

Elsie enjoyed horseback riding, playing cards, taking care of children, and lovingly accepting the role of "grandma" at Roger's School for 10 years. She also enjoyed long car rides looking for wildlife, especially deer, and more than anything, spending time with her family.

Surviving are her three children, Kevin (Sue) Davis of LaPorte City, Ken (Sonja) Davis of Melbourne, and Karen (Ray) Rockingham of Marshalltown; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ruth Davis; and extended family and friends.
