Mrs. Evelyn Gaston Randle, 86, of the Oktoc community, outside of Starkville, MS passed away on Thursday, June 16th.

Visitation will be held at the Starkville First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 19th, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Services will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a graveside service following at Oktibbeha Memorial Garden Park.

She is survived by her sons, William Davis Randle (Dot) of Brandon, MS, John Russell Randle of Starkville; her daughters, Shirley Ann Randle of Starkville and Bettie Randle Freeman (Glenn) of Lumberton, MS; her grandchildren, Jennifer Randle Smith (Derrek), Amy Freeman Brown (Matt), Joshua Randle, Mary Grave Freeman Walters (Curtis), John Randle, Adam Randle and Kenneth Randle, as well as by eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; her sister, Annie Dell Hess; brother, Herbert Gaston; and sister-in-laws, Bobbie Gaston, Joyce Gaston, and Patsy Randle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Davis Gaston and Mae Savage Gaston; her step-mother, Margaret Bell Gaston; her brothers, Fletcher, Jeff, James, and Richard; her sisters, Bettie Mae Cline and Margaret Nabors; her son, Kenneth Dale Randle; and her beloved husband, John Allison (Sonny) Randle.

On June 1, 1950 she married her love, Sonny Randle in a ceremony in the Gaston home in Oktoc. She worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm in Oktoc. After her children were grown, she began to work as secretary at First Presbyterian Church in Starkville for over 20 years. She was an active member for many years of the Presbyterian Women. In addition, she was a member of the Oktoc Community Club and the Oktoc Garden Club, where she was known for her buttermilk pound cake. She also worked as a 4-H leader with the Oktoc 4-H Club.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joshua Randle, John Randle, Adam Randle, and Kenneth Randle and her great-grandsons, Abel Hall and Bryce Hall.

Memorials may be made to the Starkville First Presbyterian Church or Palmer Home for Children.
