Bernard and twin Mary Harkin were born on December 10, 1898. Their sister Hannah was born on January 4, 1898 - three children all born in 1898! The family name is Harkin. When each family member immigrated, an "s" was added to the name. So, family members who remained in Ireland go by Harkin. Those in the US go by Harkins. Barney immigrated to Boston in 1923. His mother Celia immigrated in 1926 after his father passed away in 1925. Barney never married.
