Mr. John "Johnny" Marion Windom, age 79, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away August 30, 2022.
He was born August 1, 1943, in Tallapoosa, to the late Walker and Lena Clay Windom.
He was not only the greeter at the Piggly Wiggly in Tallapoosa, but he would also wish everyone a great day and leave them smiling and feeling a little happier about life. He was an avid lover of horses and was a great carpenter. He built many homes and anything else he wanted to build or do – he could and would - do it. Johnny will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Victoria Windom; three sisters, Sarah Bates, Clara Dewberry, and Marceline Johnson; and a brother, Harold Windom.
He is survived by his two children, Melanie and Tommy Mullins, of Bremen, GA, and Mark and Tammie Windom, of Tallapoosa; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Irene Kelley, of Tallapoosa; a special niece, Janet Staton; and special friends, Sandra Floyd and Sara Sims.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 2, 2022, at 5:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Dr. Mason Bush officiating.
Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Windom, Mitchel Mullins, Michael Mullins, Jesse Sims, Buddy Farmer, and Michael Mullins, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gail Bowers and Andrew Kelley.
Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
