Evelyn Rose Barrett, 89 years old, died peacefully in her sleep on August 30, 2022. She was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Louise Smith of New Mexico, her brother, Gerald "Jerry" Smith of Oregon, and Colan "Coke" Barrett, her husband of 35 years, of Texas. She is survived by her sister, Charlene "Charlie" White of New Mexico, a son and his wife, Brian and Tammy Barrett of Washington, a daughter, Kim Barrett of Texas, a spiritual daughter and her husband, Bonnie and Perry Shaw of Washington, as well as 7 grandchildren, and 7 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2022, from 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Girdner Funeral Home located at 141 Elm Street, Abilene, Texas (across from City Link Station). Harper, Texas Services- Visitation will be Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 P.M., Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 P.M. Visitation and funeral will take place at Lighthouse Fellowship Chapel, located at 195 Roberts, Harper, Texas. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service at Harper Community Cemetery.
