Daughter of Harley Leroy Thomas and Virginia Gibson

Wife of Junior Dell Carter, 31 January 1947, Provo, Utah, Utah

Obituary. Virginia "Jane" Carter passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022, at her home.

Jane was born August 29, 1931, in Grantsville, Utah, to Harley LeRoy and Virginia Gibson Thomas. She was the middle child, as she referred to herself a lot. She had an older sister, Leola; and a younger brother, Harley, who are both deceased.

She married Junior Dell Carter on January 31, 1947, in Provo, Utah; sealed in the Provo Temple on January 31, 1987.

Jane always considered her greatest and happiest accomplishments as having her four children, and then came all the grandkids, great grandkids, and a great great grandson, with another one on the way.

Mom was a very accomplished homemaker, from baking wonderful breads and treats to fantastic meals all through our lives.

She was always so happy to serve in her church callings, starting at age 18 teaching Primary then on to many callings in the M.I.A. and Relief Society. She was also a worker in the Provo and Payson temples. Mom loved being a volunteer at Mountain View Hospital in Payson, starting in 1995 and just finished a couple of years ago.

Jane is survived by her children: (Jay – deceased) Debbie Carter, (Allan – deceased) Julie Carter, Susan (Terry) Hallett, and Caralee (Alan) Steele; and by two sisters-in-law, Doris (Glade) Carter and Maxine (Dean) Carter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, JD; sons, Jay and Allan; great-grandson, Kelton Roundy, and many loving family members on both sides.

Family and close friends are invited to the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah. Visitation will be at the funeral home, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, UT.
