Betty Melton, 87, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, NC.
She was born September 29, 1934, in Cherokee Co, SC, the daughter of the late Carl Vernon and Bea Foster Manning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Melton; and sisters, Etta Mae Earls and Helen Johnson.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Myra Campbell and husband Johnny, and Nancy Dickens and husband Chris; sister, Eleen Nolan and husband Max; grandchildren, Laura Staie, and Tyler Leviner; and great-grandchildren, Cohen Leviner, Judah Leviner, and Blakeley Staie.
A funeral service officiated by Rev. Dennis Gomez, will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at New Life Baptist Church - 614 S 11th St, Bessemer City, NC 28016. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.
