Mrs. Edna Leora Oshel, died at her home in Mt. Upton, New York August 30, 1953.

She was born at LeRoy, Kansas, April 11, 1890, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fields.

She was married on August 13, 1906, at Fredonia, Kansas, to Emmett C. Oshel, who preceded her in death July 5, 1939.

Eleven children were born to this union, five of whom died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Ruth Leora Hays, died at the age of 23 in March of 1933. One son, Roy Melvin, age 19, died in June, 1942.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harry Hay Jr., of LaHarpe, KS; and sons H. D. Oshel of Wichita, KS, Ronald Oshel of Gilbertsville, NY, Wayne Oshel, of Delhi NY; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Moss Bergess; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held September 3, 1953 at the Waugh Funeral Home in Iola, KS, and burial was in the Coyville Cemetery, Coyville, Kansas.
