Waneta Dreon was born Sept.7, 1918, in Flint, Illinois, to Edgar and Bessie (Conway) Dreon. She was married to Harold Sible in Rock Island from 1934 until his death in 1939. She was married to Cecil M. Hughes in Davenport from Sept. 28, 1940 until his death Nov. 9, 1985.
She was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island, and enjoyed working with ceramics.
A son, brother and sister-in-law all survived her. She was preceded in death by a son, Ed Hughes, in 1997.
