BURLEY - Robert Wells McBride, 84, former longtime resident of Burley, died at his home in Los Angeles Wednesday of a heart ailment. He was born in Grantsville, Utah, November 22, 1877, and on November 8, 1899, he married Edith Cummins, in Oakley. They came to Burley in 1906, homesteading the land which is now the Burley City Golf Course. They lived there for 15 years and operated an ice business. In 1945 the family moved to California. Mr. McBride was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include his widow; four sons, Clinton McBride and M. L. (Mutt) McBride, both of Los Angeles, Kaarman McBride of Lucerne Valley, California, and Cleao McBride of Burley; three daughters, Mrs. Sarah McMurray of Bell, California, Mrs. Alverda Long of Claremont, California, and Mrs. Norma Gunderson of Los Angeles; one brother, Glen McBride of Bonner's Ferry; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Dummer of Salt Lake City, Utah; a half-sister, Mrs. Olive Boren of Burley; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Los Angeles Saturday and at the McCulloch Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday with Verl Chesley officiating. Last rites will be held in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Monday until time of the services.
