A SHADOW OVER BRADFORD HOME
Foothill Grower Succumbs to Persistent Heart Trouble.
HIGHLAND, Jan. 18 - After a heroic struggle against a complication of diseases, Wm. Banford, well known in East Highlands, as a successful orange grower, died at the family home at 10 o'clock last night. For several years the deceased has been a sufferer from heart trouble, when, about 10 days ago, he got wet in the rains then prevailing, he took cold which developed into pneumonia. He could not withstand the complication.
Deceased was born in England in 1847, and was therefore in his sixty-third year. Since coming to California, about 40 years ago, he has lived in this valley most of the time, and was well known in and about the county seat.
Mr. Banford is survived by a wife and several children. His sister is hurrying here to be present at the funeral services, which will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Baptist church at San Bernardino.
