DEATH OF MRS. CHARLOTTE BANFORD
Honored Resident of Ogden for Forty-eight Years Passes Away, Leaving Numerous Family to Lament Her - Funeral Will Be Held on Tuesday
Mrs. Charlotte Banford, a resident of Ogden for the past forty-eight years, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Cole, 240 Twenty-sixth street, at 1 o'clock yesterday morning. She was in her ninety-second year. Death was mainly due to a fall which she sustained in her home on Friday last, when she accidentally fell from a chair and fractured her thigh. Her advanced age, coupled with the injury, was the cause of death.
She was born in England, where, she joined the Latter-day Saints' church in 1855. She came to Utah in 1857. For three years she resided in Morgan county, after which she came to Ogden, where she has since lived.
There are 187 direct descendants, of whom ten daughters and sons were of the immediate family, There are fifty-four grandchildren,
121 great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren.
Of the ten children, but five are living. They are: Job Pingree, president of the Pingree National bank, Ogden; Samuel Banford, William Banford, who is a resident of San Bernardino, Cal.
Mrs. Banford was a faithful worker in the Mormon church and was well known throughout the state.
Funeral service over the remains will be held in the Second ward meeting house at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
